Counseling Center: Programs
Alcohol and Substance Abuse
We offer individual, group and intensive out patient counseling for adults with alcohol and/or substance abuse disorders. Ancillary individual, couples and family therapy are available as well as aftercare and relapse prevention. The IOTP Program is a full year with focus on emotional regulation, substance abuse education and relapse prevention. We use the Matrix Model materials.
Court Ordered Assessments and Evaluations
LAFC does court ordered alcohol and substance assessments as well as most other court required assessments including domestic violence and secual offenders.
LAFC is the only licensed DWI school in Los Alamos County. State approved sessions are offered quarterly.
Individual, Group and Family Counseling
Counseling is available for adults, adolescents and children for a full range of mental health, substance abuse and co-occurring disorders. All of our therapists encourage family-centered therapy if the client is willing.
Therapy in the areas of family and domestic violence is available for victims, perpetrators and family members. LAFC has applied to be a recognzed DV offenders' treatment program.
Resources from the Department of Health, Santa Fe Rape Crisis Center and the Espanola Crisis Center support our individual and group therapy.
Young Child and Family Therapy
A therapist trained in working with young children is available for pre-school and young children support. She is a licensed Sand Tray Therapy trainer.
Clients who have severe and/or chronic mental illness are provided an opportunity to learn skills to empower themselves while enjoying a supportive social group.
